Our Commitment

At Veruna, mining is more than an industry – it’s a vehicle for transformation. Our commitment is not only to extract resources, but to uplift the communities we touch.

Commitment to Community

Veruna’s commitment to community begins in our own back yard. La Ciénega, a town once abandoned during years of violence is now slowly returning to life since the removal of the cartel in 2024. We’re helping restore daily life—cleaning streets, improving roads, and bringing internet access for the first time. But our vision extends far beyond one town. Across Sonora, we are committed to helping rebuild livelihoods, strengthening infrastructure, and creating opportunity.

This spirit is embodied by Alejandro Sánchez, Veruna’s Head of Security. Raised in an orphanage in Hermosillo, Alejandro has dedicated his life to giving back, supporting dozens of orphanages and community initiatives across Sonora. He is joined in this mission by Jonathan and Amy Cooper, and a growing network of partners who believe that wealth should heal, not harm.

Commitment to Environment

Veruna is building an environmentally responsible future—applying sustainable mining technologies that minimize disturbance, conserve water, and prioritize restoration from day one. Our approach is guided by a simple belief:

Responsible development is the only path to lasting success in mining.

We work closely with local communities and regulators to safeguard air, water, and wildlife. From closed-loop water systems that recycle up to 95% of what’s used, to low-emission operations and proactive reclamation planning, we leverage modern innovation to reduce impact and preserve ecological balance. We’re not just here to extract gold—we’re here to protect the ecosystems that make our projects possible and leave the land better than we found it.

U.S. — Mexico Partnership

Veruna’s vision is rooted in partnership — in a strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationship between the United States and Mexico built on shared prosperity, shared security, and shared values.

For Veruna Minerals, this means honoring Mexico’s rich cultural heritage and mining traditions while bringing U.S. investment, innovation, and technical expertise to the table. Together, we are creating the foundation for lasting regional stability — where legitimate enterprise replaces cartel influence, and opportunity grows on both sides of the border.

Our goal is to build real, lasting benefits: quality jobs, workforce training, safer communities, and responsible development that protect the land while strengthening the local economy.
